Mother and child

As an artist it is always a fine line of when to stop when you are doing a painting and say it is finished. It is when the conscious mind overtakes the unconscious.

I love a blue base to my paintings. A dear friend of mine sent me a message recently …… ‘you have a unique talent when you let your unconscious express itself and not paint over it. I haven’t seen anything like it before’.

Interestingly when I take a step back from the blue base I can always see a meaning to the form which I then build on. I have called this one ‘Mother and child’.
